Ubuntu Roots Press

stories with roots
Ubuntu Roots Press publishes books, zines and cross-cultural creative work shaped by everyday life, memory, belonging and the quiet connections that grow between people and places.
Our projects explore the in-between spaces where cultures meet and move - the subtle traces of language, relationship and lived experience that reveal how roots travel and how meaning forms in ordinary moments.

Roots & Mission

Ubuntu Roots Press is an independent micro-press dedicated to quiet, rooted and interwoven storytelling. We publish small creative works shaped by everyday life, movement, care, childhood, language, glow rituals, botanical knowledge, diaspora-adjacent moments, street impressions and the spaces between cultures.

Our approach is simple: slow stories, thoughtful details, respect for lived experience, and room for projects that don’t fit into one box.

Mission

To create a home for rooted stories — soft, quiet, cross-cultural and grounded in the ordinary beauty of real life.

Our Values are

• rooted in care

• shaped by everyday life

• cross-cultural & respectful

• slow, small, intentional

• no clichés, no simplifications

• space for the in-between
